www.postmagazine.com 6 POST MAY/JUNE 2025 BITS & PIECES LEVEL WEST STUDIOWORKS OFFERING HIGH-QUALITY MODULAR STUDIOS LONDON — Level West Studioworks (www.levelwest.studio) is a new, modu- lar-studio brand from the teams behind Level Acoustic Design and Westwood Joinery. The company launched at this year's MPTS media production show in the UK, which took place May 14th and 15th. Level West Studioworks aims to deliver innovative, pre-built, acoustical- ly-controlled studio spaces that can be shipped and installed anywhere in the world. Their goal is to make professional-grade environments more accessible. The company was created following a decade of collaboration between Level Acoustic Design, a designer and developer of critical listening environ- ments for music, film, broadcast and post production; and Westwood Joinery, who are known for their high-end joinery and technical fit-outs for studio, commercial and residential spaces. Designed to order, each space is built using a modular room-in-a-room system that offers high levels of acoustic isolation and a faster, more effective alternative to traditional construction. Studios are manufactured in the UK, then shipped to each site and reassembled by local contractors. Level West manages the process from initial design through to install, giving clients a single point of contact throughout. Studios delivered by the team include recording spaces at Abbey Road Studios and The Hit Factory in New York, as well as post production facilities for Netflix and Lucasfilm. They are also suitable for home-studio use. "For years, we've worked side-by-side with Level Acoustic Design to create studios for some of the world's most discerning clients," notes Jerry Bennett of Westwood Joinery. "Level West Studioworks is a natural next step, giving us a platform to scale globally without compromising quality." "Existing modular studio solutions fall short when it comes to acoustics and build quality," adds Chris Walls of Level Acoustic Design. "Level West Studioworks exists to meet the growing demand for pre-built, pre-tested studios that perform to the highest technical standards, wherever they are deployed." BITPRESS HELPS BBC STUDIOS ANALYZE MASSIVE MEDIA LIBRARY DENVER, CO — Bitpress, which uses intelligent automation, machine learning and cloud scale to quickly analyze content for monetization, recently spent two weeks analyzing over 90,000 media assets for BBC Studios. BBC Studios is the main commercial arm of BBC Commercial Ltd. The assets spanned decades, and Bitpress' intelligent catalog analysis revealed 38 detailed data points per asset, as well as identified inaccuracies in existing metadata and video mastering. BBC Studios' vast catalog included decades of broadcast TV content in multiple aspect ratios and varying specs. Many of these assets were created using legacy formats and inconsistent standards, making it difficult to catalog, optimize or monetize effectively. Leveraging VideoPress and its new intelligent catalog analysis offered detailed insight into color atoms, audio tracks, sound fields, frame rates, aspect ratios, ad breaks, resolution and format specifica- tions. The automated process identified metadata inconsistencies and flagged assets requiring manual QA or reformat- ting. With this newfound visibility, BBC Studios can optimize or preserve assets with confidence, as well as accelerate their ability to bring content to market. "Bitpress' automation capabilities have redefined how media companies manage and monetize their libraries," explains founding partner, Morgan Holly. "Our platform enables large-scale content analysis and normalization in record time, delivering valuable insights that would take months with traditional methods. We're proud to help BBC Studios maximize the potential of their archive." Angela LaFlamme's One Step Forward music video was shot in San Francisco's Mission District at The Bohemian Art Salon. The video was executive produced by Digital Anarchy's (www.digitalanarchy. com) Jim Tierney and employed the developer's Beauty Box digital makeup tool for smoothing and retouching. The video was color graded by Jason Bowdach. For more insight into how creatives are making "Music Videos," turn to our feature on page 12.
