character. I sourced much of the fabric, buons, etc., for his custom shirts and suits." Wegner found her way to a career in costuming by crossing the country—twice. "At some point in my mid- 20s, I was 'live laugh loving' with friends in San Diego. My friend Christina and I decided to take a sewing class at the community college, and I fell in love with designing and building clothing. That passion led me to fashion school in New York. At some point while I was in school, I realized that I actually didn't want to work in the fashion industry. I happened to meet some people who worked in costumes in New York, and from there the seed was planted." She made it back to the West Coast and joined Local 705 in 2018 while working on a TV show that flipped to a union contract. Glick and Wegner both worked with Costume Designer Kameron Lennox on the TV show Platonic, which proved to be advantageous when facing the fast-paced demands of a show like The Studio. Wegner notes, "At some point, you just know you're speaking the same language and there is trust there. And all of us in the Costume Department on Platonic had such a great experience that we were happy to continue on to The Studio together." A show with so many design periods and elements can put a strain on the supervisor to keep expenses in check, but Glick credits Lennox's experience and savvy for balancing the creative vision and costume budget. "Our amazing Costume Designer, Kameron Lennox, is a budget-conscious designer which helped keep us in line." While The Studio depicts a chaotic team of infighting executives baling their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films, the real- life Costume Department on this production was just the opposite. Wegner comments, "This team was off the charts. Everyone involved is a pro and so talented in their role ... everyone was super excited about the project and gave their 100%, not sacrificing enjoying the process. Of course, there were stressful moments and curveballs thrown at us. I just feel like we took everything in stride and had so many great laughs in the process."
