4 • LMGI COMPASS | Spring 2025 L E T T E R FROM THE PRESIDENT "Spring is the time of plans and projects." –Leo Tolstoy Spring is a season of renewal, a time of fresh beginnings and forward momentum. As nature reawakens, we take stock of where we've been and set our sights on what lies ahead. This season marks a time of transition for the LMGI, as we welcome a newly elected Board of Directors. Wi t h n ew l ea d e rs h i p co m es f res h perspectives, new ideas and a renewed commitment to strengthening our Guild and our profession. We also honor Jimmy Ayoub, Mac Gordon and Alison Taylor, who have completed their terms on the Board. Their dedication and hard work have helped shape the LMGI into the global force it is today, and we owe them a debt of gratitude. The Guild thrives because of its engaged and committed members, and I encourage each of you to find ways to contribute, whether through mentorship, volunteering, advocacy or simply sharing your voice in our community. I am truly honored that the Board has once again chosen me to serve as President. With this role comes a responsibility which I take with steadfast commitment to serving our membership and advancing our profession. Alongside our newly elected and returning Board members, we are dedicated to expanding the LMGI's global presence, strengthening industry partnerships, and creating opportunities for our members to grow and thrive. Our industry is constantly evolving, and as location professionals, we understand better than most the importance of adaptability, innovation and collaboration. Together, we will ensure that the LMGI remains a vital, supportive and forward-thinking organization. The recent California fires have left devastation in their wake; impacting lives, communities and the very landscapes that serve as the canvas for our work. Beyond these fires, we have seen the effects of other global disasters—floods, hurricanes, earthquakes—each leaving their mark on the places we hold dear. Yet, in the face of loss, we witness the unwavering strength, compassion and determination that define our industry. Location professionals are no strangers to challenges—we navigate the unexpected daily, adapting and problem-solving in the most demanding circumstances. That same resilience fuels recovery, as we rally to support those affected, rebuild what was lost and find ways to move forward. The LMGI stands in solidarity with our colleagues worldwide, offering resources, advocacy and unwavering support. As we move forward, let's embrace the opportunities ahead. Whether through mentorship or participating in Guild initiatives, each of us plays a role in shaping the future of location management. Together, we will continue to grow, adapt and thrive. Wishing you all a season of new beginnings and success.
