LMGI COMPASS | Spring 2025 • 27 Marketing, the dramatic US- Mexico border wall and the one-of-a-kind Titan Missile Museum, to name just a few." One of Prosansky's favorite stops was in Bisbee, about an hour outside of Tucson. "It's an absolutely stunning former mining town with plenty of unique corridors, changing topography and colorful architecture to tell a multitude of stories. Lowell, AZ, just outside the Bisbee city limits is icing on the cake for an alien invasion scene or film!" "My personal favorite was the McCain Loop Drive within Tucson Mountain Park!" says Paul Messana/LMGI. This four-mile stretch is often used as an idyllic winding desert road for car commercials, but more recently was featured in a prominent driving sequence for Academy Award- nominated film The Fabelmans (2000). The tour's highlight was the chance to cross the border into Mexico. Since 1999, Film Tucson has helped bridge the gap for productions between Southern Arizona and Northern Mexico. As a Sonoran-born native, Film Commissioner Lopez helped open up a whole new world of filmable locations in border towns such as Naco and Nogales. Film Tucson Director Catalanotte hopes the Fam Tours will help attract filmmakers from around the world. Trimble is eager to bring production across state lines from California. "Tucson is such a short flight or drive from Los Angeles that it really needs to be on the radar of Hollywood film and commercial productions, especially when one considers the economic incentives as well." Film Tucson, the official film office for Southern Arizona, can help make any project a reality.
