6 • LMGI COMPASS | Spring 2025 CONTRIBUTORS Chris Evans Chris Evans has been a film and TV journalist and editor for 25 years, covering locations and production, most recently as location editor of Screen International and KFTV. He has lived and worked in many countries, including Chile, where he was editor of the Santiago Times. His experience there was tempered somewhat, though, by being chased to the office each day by rabid dogs! Evans enjoys interviewing a variety of people in the screen sector, from gaffers and location scouts to A-list directors and actors. He can take his hand to everything from snappy news stories to big reports on key trending subjects, like virtual production and sustainability. He's also easy to spot on location at two meters tall! Jill Naumann Los Angeles native Jill Naumann considers filmmaking to be an integral part of her cultural heritage. Training on the streets of LA during the '90s filming boom, Naumann worked with directors such as Ron Howard, Mick Jackson and William Friedkin. In 2003, she received a COLA Award for Location Professional of the Year—Television for 44 Minutes: The North Hollywood Shoot-Out. In 2013, she was honored with a second COLA for the Best Reality Series Top Hooker. Her photography has been showcased in AFCI's Locations magazine and many California county brochures distributed by tourism Boards. In her downtime, she enjoys using multi-sport vacations to scout California's small towns, and donates her time on the festival circuit to promote filming. Lisa Scope Sydney-based location manager Lisa Scope has been a part of the entertainment industry for over 25 years. Lisa discovered a love for location scouting and management and transitioned into the craft starting out on TVCs and then, film and television. She has scouted and managed some of Australia's most beloved dramas, including the award-winning Love Child, Packed to the Rafters, Love My Way and Rescue: Special Ops, as well as lending her expertise to a range of international productions, including The Fall Guy, Thor: Love and Thunder, Peter Rabbit 2, I Am Woman and The Daughter. Lisa's experience working with local government agencies led to roles in the New South Wales (NSW) Film and TV Office—Create NSW—working to increase Australia's location profile in the international arena and help improve professional practices. Lisa currently serves on the LMGI Board of Directors as its Secretary and is the Regional Director of the LMGI's newly formed branch, Oceania. We welcome contributions to the LMGI Compass. Please send submissions to compass@ locationmanagers.org Your story ideas, articles and photography belong on these pages and on our website. Articles focus on aspects of location management and scouting. Photographs for the "Martini Shot" are exemplary location shots, with an evocative, artistic component that take it up a notch … a hero shot in a VERTICAL orientation.
