ROBINSON'S TEA CAKES LAUNCHES NATIONAL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR MISS JUNETEENTH PAGEANT AND SCHOLARSHIP FUND Beloved Southern Cookie Named the Official Sweet of Juneteenth Celebration Mrs. Robinson's Tea Cakes, the time- less Southern delicacy that has graced generations of Black family gatherings, is now taking center stage in a powerful national fundraising campaign. Launching just in time for Juneteenth 2025, Mrs. Robinson's Tea Cakes will serve as the official cookie for this year's celebration while raising funds for the National Miss Juneteenth Pageant and Scholarship Fund, under the banner: "A Sweet Way to Celebrate Freedom." At the heart of this movement is Etha Robinson—entrepreneur, cultural pres- ervationist, and the Tea Cake Commis- sioner for the National Juneteenth Observation Foundation. With deep fam- ily roots in the tradition of baking tea cakes, Mrs. Robinson is now leveraging this rich culinary history to support a brighter future for young Black women across the nation. "This isn't just about cookies," said Mrs. Robinson. "It's about preserving our heritage and creating new opportunities. The Miss Juneteenth Pageant and Scholarship Fund represents pride, beau- ty, intelligence, and community uplift. And we're using a cherished family recipe to help fuel that vision." THE CAMPAIGN Beginning May 25th—recognized as "Shove-Off Day"—supporters can pre- order Mrs. Robinson's signature Tea Cakes via the website: www.mrsrobin- sonsteacakes.com. Available in four for- mats—1 dozen large tea cakes, 2 dozen, half-pound bite-size, and full-pound bite- size—each order supports the scholar- ship fund, with 40% of proceeds directly benefiting the Miss Juneteenth Scholarship program. But the campaign goes even further. Museums, churches, HBCU groups, restaurants, family reunions, and commu- nity organizations are invited to partner in the effort by selling tea cakes as fundraisers. These groups will be provid- ed with order forms, promotional materi- als, and a no-risk sales model: no money upfront, fulfillment handled by Mrs. Robinson's team, and profits shared post-sale. The mission is simple but profound: sell sweetness to fund scholarships and spread awareness of Juneteenth's histor- ical and cultural significance. The tea cake, a traditional dessert once baked in freedom kitchens during Emancipation celebrations, is reclaiming its place in American history—this time, as a catalyst for equity and education.
