they need to be updated, we come up with the language, we submit it to another committee, and then the committee presents it to the Executive Board. When it comes time for Emmy nominations, we go through all the nominations. The PGEC goes through the nominations to make sure that: one, everyone is putting themselves in the right classification, and two, to make sure that everybody who's eligible to be on the ballot is on the ballot. That is our main job." As a Co-governor, Patterson is responsible for setting dates for the PGEC meetings and attending the Board of Governors sessions. "We take what we get out of our Peer Group meeting and then take it to the Executive Board and discuss it. We also join two to three committees that are related to Television Academy events and the Emmys and we help to plan all of that." As it stands currently, there are six Costume Emmys that can be awarded for each category: one for Costume Designer; one for Costume Supervisor; and up to three for an Assistant Costume Designer and one for Head of Workroom. "Anything more than that, you would have to remove an ACD from eligibility for Head of Workroom," Patterson adds. The Television Academy rules for eligibility state that "eligibility will be determined by the Costume Designer. Contribution to the project will be weighed on a percentage basis as is done for all other positions. Verification will be made by call sheet, deal memo and designer input. The HoW must be an individual, rather than a costume house or facility. However, the head of a facility workroom may be considered."
