team of "Tornado Wranglers," roaring onto the scene. We begin to establish the drama and competition between these two teams and the contrast in styles, looks and methods for chasing tornadoes. When we found an abandoned gas station that looked like it had been damaged by a tornado, I thought it was a fitting place. We decided to embrace the original gas station name of "Lone Ranger" and its Western vibe. OM: Those vehicles we introduce at the Lone Ranger took a lot of work to get camera-ready and required a lot of interdepartmental collaboration to achieve. We had the FX team welding and rigging exoskeletons, the set decoration team adding dressing inside and out, our props team installing gadgets, the playback team providing interactive content and the scenic team tackling painting, red mud and aging. PS: The Storm PAR vehicles were brand new, shiny and fresh off the assembly line. We created a hierarchy with Storm PAR and embraced a Wizard of Oz (the original tornado movie) Easter egg… "Lion" was the leader and he had the big beefy TRX truck that could "lock horns" with Tyler's truck. The other two SUVs helping with the deployment of the PAR devices were "Scarecrow" and "Tin Man" to complete the triangle. I thought it was fun to call the brain center van of the operation the "Wizard." Naming them helped keep the geography clear as they chase tornadoes. On the Tyler team, they're ragtag. We went with a rustic red for Tyler's truck after I saw a farmer's pickup outside of a hardware store. I showed it to Isaac and we agreed that its oxidized red color was perfect. I saw this one as Frankenstein's monster, a reanimation of Bill's truck from Twister, which started out shiny and new, then through the course of the film, gets worse for wear with storm chasing, until it finally gets sucked up into the tornado at the end of the film.
