T W I S T E R S | P E R S P E C T I V E 1 9 realize that a tornado is coming and where it's coming from? Oana B Miller: Credit to Andrew Nowling for the fantastic artificial greens that made it into the opening shot of the film. That scene was filmed in December, and the landscape was brown. He and his greens team did an excellent job on all the artificial grasses and landscapes they built for our locations and stage that needed to survive wind, rain and crew trampling all over them. PS: Kate walks back to her team of college classmates. They awaken and begin a chase to "tame" a tornado. That tornado is bigger than they predicted. As they frantically drive to escape, they crash near a highway overpass, forcing them to flee on foot to find shelter. Kate has messed up in the field and she loses her classmates. That's going to haunt her. The production had to build a section of the overpass because, although we had a practical location, we couldn't shut it down and control it for too long. We were able to finish the sequence with full control of wind, rain and stunt effects. OM: The next challenge was to establish the world of Medford's Lone Ranger gas station, where all the storm chasers meet up and launch into the first modern-day storm chase of the movie. PS: It is here that we introduce the Storm PAR team, then quickly get to meet Tyler's YouTuber B. OVERPASS. SKETCHUP MODEL BY KELSEY GARRETT. C. OVERPASS.
