Production designer John Myhre, who worked with Quinn on 1998's Elizabeth and later on Pirates of the Caribbean, recounts her deep knowledge of British history and architecture. "On Elizabeth, we had big dreams and a slightly smaller budget. Sue suggested using cathedrals and blending them with stage settings. She insisted that we embark on a three-week whirlwind of visiting every cathedral in England. The film blossomed because of Sue's enthusiasm and expertise. The locations became the film's savior and allowed us to fulfil our aspirations with epic Tudor scale and detail." "I'm thrilled to have been able to work alongside Sue all these years and grow and learn under her nurture," attests production supervisor Georgette Turner/LMGI who worked alongside Quinn as an LM for many years. "Working with Sue is always an adventure! Her generosity and talent leave a lasting impact on everyone who has worked with her. Sue has an incredible ability to walk into any room, house, country, or place and seamlessly fit in … she finds inspiration and beauty in all things, making her one of the most inspiring and nurturing people I know. The epitome of dignity and grace and one of the best location managers there ever was with an eye that doesn't miss any detail. Sue makes location managing an art like no other!" For her part, Quinn says that receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award came as a surprise. "I didn't think I was old enough for it! But then it hit me just how many years I've been in this industry. I am thrilled to receive this wonderful award! The LMGI has done an exceptional job of bringing location professionals together worldwide and recognizing our contributions." In recognition of her dedication to grounding thrilling stories in unforgettable landscapes, and for her extraordinary impact on location professionals around the world, the LMGI is pleased and honored to present Sue Quinn with the 2024 LMGI Lifetime Achievement Award.
