THE CROWN
Season 6
Spanning the later years of Queen Elizabeth's reign,
the final season shares the intimate and public lives
of the British monarchy from Princess Diana's tragic
death in Paris to the wedding of Prince Charles and
Camilla at York Minster standing in for the chapel at
Windsor Castle. From Balmoral Castle in the Scottish
Highlands to Buckingham Palace in London, the UK
has no shortage of estates, universities and churches
to recreate the rarefied world the Royals inhabit.
Stunning settings in Mallorca play for Monaco,
Corsica, St. Tropez and Mustique where Princess
Margaret finds refuge and Diana vacations with Dodi on his father's yacht. The Yellow Castle in Andratx is
Mohamed Al-Fayed's vacation home, and a dramatic chase scene on the streets of Palma foreshadows the
fatal crash, partially filmed in Paris, that took the lives of Lady Di and Dodi. Over its six seasons,
The Crown
has helped us re-live historic moments that are deeply etched in our consciousness, and experience those
we can only imagine.
THE GILDED AGE
Season 2
Old money and new clash in the opulent world of
1880's New York City where, as a character intones,
"Society puts itself on display!" Exquisite locations,
found mostly in Upstate New York and Rhode Island,
are woven together to create a textured tapestry
of life during an era of change, innovation and new
wealth as characters vie for their place in society.
The Capital Theatre in Albany and the Philadelphia
Academy of Music recreate the grandeur of the
Metropolitan Opera, while Marble House in Newport
hosts an elaborate dinner scene with the Duke of
Marlborough. A former textile mill in Cohoes is the
site of a Philadelphia riot, a Brooklyn pharmacy is
recreated in Troy and the Easter Parade strolls down
Fifth Avenue—in Albany!
TOKYO VICE
Season 2
In this hard-boiled crime thriller, a young American reporter
teams with a seasoned Japanese detective to take on crime
and corruption in a Tokyo that has never before been seen on
screen. Granted unprecedented access to areas once off limits
to filmmakers, this season's action expands beyond the glass
and steel offices of the violent Yakuza and the bustling bullpen
of "The Meicho" newsroom with gunfire on a highway, exteriors
on narrow Akasaka Street jammed with police vehicles and
nighttime action in the reporter's claustrophobic Akabane
District neighborhood. A funeral for a Yakuza leader at the
historic Ryukoji Temple provides a stunning peek into Japanese
culture and tradition. Inspired by true accounts of the young
American's years at a Japanese newspaper in the 1990s,
locations reveal a Tokyo that is as pulsating as it is serene, as
glossy as it is gritty, as modern as it is ancient.
