THE ARTISAN SUMMER 2024 • 41 two wigs combined. Our fourth wig was three wigs combined to create one long black wavy wig with a silver bow on top. Our fifth wig was two wigs in one with a dry finger wave, teased out, and our sixth wig was two wigs in one, pre-stacked. We added jewels and bedazzled it and did a French wave piece on top and color matched the queen's dress. The day we shot this, we had all our main cast on set, our five drag queens, 60-plus background, and featured background. It was a hectic/crazy day but I'm so proud of our work! Foe: I was so excited for this episode! Once I knew what hair and costumes were doing, I created some looks and brought in renowned drag make-up artist Glen Alen to help execute the queens' make-up. For our Kicking Queen, we did high brows and an extended cat eye going into jewels. She had a nude matte lip with champagne glitter on top. For our Divine Intervention Queen, we did jewels on her eyelids to match the mosaic on her chest; and for our Disco Queen, we overdrew her lips and did lots of shimmer, shine, and glitter. We warmed her up a lot, used blushes to really bring out her face and cheeks, and gave her overexaggerated lashes to make her blue eyes pop. HIGHLIGHTING DAY PLAYERS IN LOCAL 706 Frazier: Charlotte Noon was our BG supervisor for episodes 1-10. She kept our BG looking fabulous and executes the looks and vision I put together, bringing authenticity across your screens. This season, I took a different approach to hiring and rotating a lot of our Guild members each episode. Budgets have been cut tremendously meaning less background, meaning less need for hiring day-playing hair stylists. I would like to thank everyone who have come to day-play with us this season: Chanel Jole, Maaliq Elliott, Stacy Bisel, Cheryl Marks, Bryn E. Leetch, Natita Stribling, Sophie Gutterman, LaLisa Turner, Lauren Ernsdorf, Kate Loftis, Florence Witherspoon, Elizabeth Olijade, Rene Edittorio, Elizabeth Burnett, Prescilla Jean Olay, Shay Stanford Fog, Johnnie Lomeli, Ryan Randall and many more. Foe: The make-up department would like to give a special thanks to all of our day players for all their hard work, and for blessing us with your gifts and talents: Brittany Turpen, Yvettra Grantham, Keesh Winkler-Smith, Ciara Coleman, Jacqueline Knowlton, Camille Evans, Devin Bianchini, Tania Vega, Lisa Morgan, Jenni Clark-Keyes, Tara Mascara, Olivia Fischa, James Ferry, Myke Spezzano, Julie Hassett, Valente Frazier, Carla Rosso, Mandy Perez, Victoria Payne, Akiko Matsumoto, Vanessa Dionne, Glen Allen, Natasha Marcelina, and Lia Robin.
