(Nancy Kelly) and Judging Juries (Abby Ginzberg) and served as PSM on the forthcoming feature Voices from the Silence and the docs Three Centuries of Guitar and Ambient Birds. Gavin Fernandes CAS has a nice fall ahead, before it falls quiet for a while as the projects filter back. On the dance card, the Andy Warhol biopic The Collaboration, starring Paul Bettany, a feature doc with Shannon Walsh called Adrianne & the Castle, and Season 2 of the Quebec series Gabrielle Roy. "Best wishes to everyone as we weather this season." Scott D. Smith CAS wrapped up production on eight episodes of the Disney/FX show The Bear—and just under the strike deadline! With able assistance from Joe Campbell (boom), Nick Harris (boom), and Nick Price (utility), along with additional crew members Sharon Frye and Eric LaCour. "I'm most pleased to share an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Sound Mixing on the show with re-recording mixer Steve "Major" Giammaria CAS and dialogue editor Evan Benjamin, whose outstanding work helped to keep the dialogue up front and intelligible, despite all the chaos on set." Daniel Vasquez V. CAS recently finished mixing and co- supervising the sound of the musical-drama film Ruben's Bolero, mixed at Clap Studios with Sebastian Alzate. The film was directed by Juan Mazo with music composed by Rafa Garcia. Michael Minkler CAS shares: "We're very close to finishing the mix on the Apple Studios Limited Series Masters of the Air, a nine-part dramatization of America's 100th Aerial Bombardment Group and their war to defeat Nazi Germany. Closing in on two years of post-production sound work, it has been the most time I have ever spent on any one project, and the most rewarding. It was an opportunity that had never been given me before. All the work went through Formosa Group. The mix was broken up by three hiatuses which allowed (supervising sound editor) Jack Whittaker and myself time to reexamine and improve the overall sound design. The series includes a tenth part, which is a feature-length documentary with live interviews of the very men whose characters were depicted in the series. Coming out January 26." Amanda Beggs CAS is missing being on set, but very grateful for the memories of the shows that led up to this downtime. The Bikeriders, filmed in Cincinnati, OH, at the end of last year with legendary boom op David M. Roberts and stellar utility Zach Mueller. This was followed up with Untitled the Weeknd & Trey Edward Shults Project at the beginning of the year with Ben Greaves and Eva Rismanforoush trading off boom duties and the incomparable Leslie Metts as utility. Lindsey Alvarez CAS and Brad Zoern CAS spent late summer and early fall mixing the CBS versions for the re-broadcast of Yellowstone Seasons 1 and 2. They also teamed up for the upcoming Paramount Plus show Lawmen: Bass Reeves, which premieres in November. Lindsey shares, "We feel very fortunate to have the work during these trying times." Karol Urban CAS MPSE mixed the recently released Loki Season 2 with Christopher Barnett CAS for Disney+. "Best wishes to everyone for a lovely holiday season!" Tom Fleischman CAS has had a fairly busy 2023 so far in spite of the strikes. He spent the first third of the year finishing up Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon and spent the summer mixing Franklin, an B E E N T H E R E D O N E T H AT Sonic Nirvana 7 hours of recording and transmitting at the same time.
