V i l f r a nc Tips for Making Industry Connections While Avoiding Social Anxiety Networking Know-How: Networking can sometimes seem daunting and overwhelming but joining the CAS as an Associate member this fall proved to be a game-changer for me. The CAS Directory and the opportunity to have one-on-one conversations with industry professionals I admired opened doors I never thought possible. It made me realize that my own limiting beliefs and social anxiety were just excuses holding me back from connecting with like-minded individuals. While I'm far from being an expert, I have learned some valuable networking etiquette that I would like to share. These are lessons I've learned through trial and error, but I've also sought input from my CAS colleagues who have kindly contributed their perspectives to this article. Remember, networking is a long-term game. It's not about immediate gains but building meaningful relationships over time. Be patient, be persistent, and most importantly, be yourself.
