E d e l s o n a n d Z e i t l i n a re a m o n g t h e p i c t u re e d i to rs w h o h ave h e l p e d t u r n ABC's "Abbott Elementary" into a sitcom sensation. The series, which concluded its second season in April, revolves around the teaching staff at a public school in Philadel- phia whose student body is predominantly Black. (Picture editor Elizabeth Praino and assistant editor Ben Boles also have editing credits on the series.) Among the ranks of the educators con- tending with poor funding, administrative challenges, and assorted day-to-day dra- mas is Janine Teagues, played by creator Quinta Brunson—whose own mother was a kindergarten teacher and who has spoken in interviews of her real-life inspirational middle-school teacher named (what else?) Ms. Abbott. The cast also includes Tyler Sarah Zeitlin, Ruth Adelman, and Richie Edelson.
