O R G M PS E CO N T R I B U TO R S Steve Lee, THSM Founder A Conversation with Mark Mangini For over 35 years, Steve Lee has been wrangling sound effects for many films—as an archivist, designer, and editor. He is actively sharing the history behind these crafts through his nonprofit, The Hollywood Sound Museum. Garrett Montgomery MPSE Game Audio The Importance of Properly Tailored Game Dialogue Garrett Montgomery is an accomplished post audio professional, with a specific focus on game dialogue recording and editorial. His extensive experience spans over 200 video games, which have been published by some of the industry's top players, including Microsoft, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, 2K Games, Riot, Capcom, Namco Bandai, Nintendo, Sony, Konami, Warner Bros., and others. Currently in his third term as a Board member of the Motion Picture Sound Editors, Garrett has received eight MPSE Golden Reel Award nominations. In 2017, he launched Pacific Coast Audio Post LLC, a specialized post-production studio offering an array of services, including game dialogue editorial, localization mastering, remote recording, analog synthesis, Eurorack modular, sound design, and mixing for both linear and interactive media. He has supervised projects for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney, EA, as well as countless trailers and commercials. He is a member of the MPSE Board of Directors, where his work has been nominated for five Golden Reel Awards. Baylon Fonseca MPSE Hollywood Tahoe Solange S. Schwalbe Baylon is a supervising sound editor and sound designer. He is a two-time National Film Award winner from India and runs his own sound post outfit, Talking Heads. He is a member of the MPSE Board of Directors. Javier Quesada MPSE The Embodied Cognition of the Film Through Sound Javier Quesada was born on February 3, 1981, in Mexico City. In 2008, he graduated from SAE Barcelona where he studied the audio engineering program. In 2021, he finished his MA in Professional Practice (Film Sound Postproduction) in SAE London. In his career in post production, Javier has always searched for projects that present a challenge in their use of sound as a narrative tool. In 2019, he received the Golden Reel Award for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing for his work on Alfonso Cuaron's Roma. Victoria Rose Sampson MPSE Dear Dialogue Detective After a successful and award-winning 40+ year career as a supervising sound editor with over 200 feature film credits, Vickie Sampson uses her time for teaching, writing, directing, and playing with grandchildren and horses. She still edits sound for indie filmmakers and friends who need it. She has an Emmy, four Golden Reel Awards; has worked on Oscar-winning films for sound and is a member of AMPAS, MPSE, and Alliance of Women Directors. Vsampson@aol.com
