The Encore, aka the Cabinet Along with the eight stories, the curtain call for this endeavor, which took place over many months, was the creation of the cabinet. Not just one, but three custom-built (some eight feet tall) cabinets that showcased the hero props as Guillermo introduced each show's opening. We evolved the cabinet from an original concept by Guy Davis, adding details, including molded parts from some excellent antique pieces decorator Shane Vieau had sourced and that were used in some of the sets. Each cabinet opened in a number of different ways and had to be meticulously designed to fit each prop. The small netsuke-like statues of each director that were designed and sculpted became the icing on the cake, a surprise to each director and an excellent wrap gift for them. It was custom carpentry, old school, at its very best and most curious… A final curtain call in a very complicated, very theatrical show.
