J U L Y / A U G U S T 2 0 2 3 | P E R S P E C T I V E 9 C O N T R I B U T O R S G R A C E Y U N grew up in a small town in Bergen County, NJ, with most summers visiting family in Seoul, South Korea. After a childhood spent drawing on walls and bed sheets and rearranging furniture in the house, her parents supported her departing for design school. Grace earned her BFA at Parsons School of Design, completing a pilot initiative for integrated design, a self-directed, multi- disciplinary program that led to her love of filmmaking. Following her studies, she gained experience in various positions in the Art Department on independent movies, music videos, and commercials, progressing toward designing shorts and commercial projects. Grace had the opportunity to Production Design Paul Schrader's Dog Eat Dog, which led to being featured in Variety's Below the Line Impact Report 2016. She moved on to serve as Production Designer on several feature films, including Eliza Hittman's Beach Rats, Ari Aster's Hereditary, Paul Schrader's First Reformed and Celine Song's Past Lives. Television projects include Ramy Youssef's Ramy and Lee Sung Jin's limited series Beef. She is currently working with Beef director Jake Schreier on Marvel Studio's Thunderbolts. Grace lives in New York with her partner and senior pup, Huck.
