FORGED IN FIRE
Fire is the most important element
of building The Actor. Not only
does it initially help melt the
wax, but 750 pounds of bronze
is later melted and added into
the second mold. At the end of
the process, foundry artisans use
metal chasing, a technique that
uses fire to oxidize the statuettes'
polished surfaces, giving them
their iconic coloring.
