PEOPLE www.postmagazine.com 35 POST NOV/DEC 2022 DANA VILLARREAL Sound Lounge (www.soundlounge.com), the artist owned and operated audio post production studio in New York City, has promoted Dana Villarreal to ex- ecutive producer of its commercial division. Villarreal has 18 years of experience in audio post. She began her career as an assistant and worked her way up to managerial level. Villarreal joined the studio as a senior producer in July 2021, with a focus on producing and managing the day-to-day production aspects of Sound Lounge's busy commercial division. She has worked with top brands, including M&M's, Google, Samsung and Chevy. Prior to joining Sound Lounge, Villareal spent time at Nutmeg Audio Post and PlushNYC. ROSS WILKINSON Ross Wilkinson has joined London's Framestore as VFX supervisor, tasked with driving forward the design and execution of VFX on a range of advertising and episodic projects across the studio's integrated advertising division. He comes to the VFX studio from Lola Post Production, where he was head of 3D and VFX supervi- sor. He previously rose through the ranks at Dneg. With over 13 years of industry experience, Wilkinson's work spans many high-profile projects, including Inception, which was awarded an Oscar for VFX, as well as the Harry Potter, Avengers and Mission Impossible fran- chises. He also contributed to Netflix's Black Mirror (Season 5), Riviera for Sky Atlantic and BBC's Les Miserables. STEVE MACPHERSON London-based Milk has appointed Steve MacPherson chief technology officer, a new role at the visual effects studio. He will be responsible for all of Milk's technology strategy and operations, including sys- tems, pipeline, editorial and research & development, as it takes on premium film and episodic projects. MacPherson brings a rich technology expertise to the studio, dating back to his early days at NASA Ames for Cray Research, at MPC and as a co-founder of Dneg. He comes to the studio from Framestore in London, where he was chief technology officer for ten years. LAURA IVEY Post Hub in Los Angeles has announced that veteran film producer/executive Laura Ivey is joining the post production management, delivery and workflow soft- ware company as partner and chief strategic officer. She will oversee the company's sales and marketing strategies, working closely with CEO Chris Ranta to educate the entertainment industry on Post Hub's comprehensive suite of services. Post Hub specializes in post management, legal delivery and digital asset management, providing studio-level support from production through distri- bution. Ivey's experience spans 25 years, serving in various roles, including film production, executive, independent producer and sales. CHARLES BLESSING, SOPHIE GUEST Nugen Audio in Leeds, UK, has announced promo- tions of senior team members Charles Blessing (top, left) and Sophie Guest (bottom, left). The company is known for its software tools that aid in loudness metering/correction, surround audio, mixing/master- ing, tracking and audio analysis. Blessing will now serve as CEO, while Guest will take on the role of chief marketing officer (CMO). The changes come as Nugen Audio co-founder Dr. Paul Tapper steps back from his position as CEO to focus on his new immersive gaming brand, Fruity Systems. Tapper will continue to serve as a director and CFO for Nugen Audio. Additionally, Guest will join Blessing and Tapper on the company's board of directors. SCOTT GEMMELL Brooklyn, NY-based storytelling production compa- ny 1stAveMachine has elevated its leadership team with the recent addition of executive producer Scott Gemmell. Formerly a partner/executive producer at StarBeast and Traction Ave. Films, as well as vice president/head of studio, content production at Jaunt X, Gemmell has delivered high-quality content across many mediums. His experience includes working closely with top brands and agencies, including AT&T, Audi, Budweiser, Disney, Electronic Arts, Gatorade, Google, Lexus, Microsoft and Sony. His most notable work includes Nike's Biomorph, Toyota's The Real Deal and Nissan Rogue's Commute. Outside of advertising, Gemmell's previous stint as the EP and head of production at Digital Domain 3.0 earned him numerous accolades, including an Academy Award nomination for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. CHRIS SOUTHWELL London's Jungle Studios, which creates sound design and music for a range of media platforms, has an- nounced that Chris Southwell has rejoined the com- pany after a decade away, this time as senior sound designer and creative director of The Attic. Southwell began his career at Jungle as a runner, working his way up to engineer. After moving to Unit, he helped build its audio department, becoming head of audio and working on projects spanning television, broadcast and long-form. Now at Jungle again, Southwell aims to keep pushing the company forward, looking at new avenues within the sound world and upholding the studio's high standards. As creative director of The Attic — a new branch within Jungle Studios that seeks to meet demand for high quality alternative content — he will also be involved in the studio's Masterclass Sessions, advanced audio train- ing for producers and creatives.
