Solidarity is more an a word On October 15, 2022 nineteen Los Angeles lo- cals hosted the "All In" IATSE Hollywood Mixer and PAC fundraiser. The event was attended by over 500 IA members from locals all over the country. Members had fun, got to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones to add to their network, and play games that helped them mix. By the end of the event, over $19,000 was raised for the IATSE Federal PAC. CDG Executive Director and mixer organizer Brigitta Romanov says, "My goal for the night was to create sol- idarity with all the locals, to have our mem- bers feel what it means to be a part of a union, and to raise money for the PAC. We wanted an event to celebrate our members and say thank you, not just when there are negotiations or an election, but to build real solidarity, the foun- dation of unionism. The PAC is to ensure that the IATSE has an even stronger voice when ad- vocating for Labor's values. The UNION is only as strong as the members' participation." 60 THE COSTUME DESIGNER | WINTER 2023
