Brockport, which I embellished to create a very theatrical informal improvisational learning space. The production wanted to do as much of the train crash in-camera as possible. It's hard to work with trains and tracks for obvious reasons. We finally found a short private track rail line in Sandersville, GA, that was taken out of commission, allowing us to own a mile of track with complete safety. We brought in twenty 60-foot tankers from around the country and actually created a collision between a tractor trailer and a train car assembly. Steven Dudro did a great job as Art Director of this while the rest of us were still in Ohio. After the crash, we had a few days to dress the cars for the scene. It was a big job to say the least. This was also a lot of fun. Zack Gonchor did another great job as Art Director—it was a Close Encounters kind of vibe. There was a lot of coordination between stunts, SPFX, picture cars and extras. For the creek—there was no way the crew was going to find an existing creek to hold the needed mechanics. Ultimately, I suggested that we dig our own trench four hundred feet long, line it with asphalt and build in all the rigging for the car.
