team was inspired by the Puget Sound. Most 3-star Michelin restaurants are found in rainy climates, topography Savannah did not offer. We took it upon ourselves to redo the Georgian landscape for that of the north, a massive undertaking we had not anticipated. We created a miniature of our island, piecing together what we would have to do practically. Due to our style of shooting, we decided to shoot mostly in-camera. The journey of the characters from the beach to the restaurant needed to feel like a ladder to The Twilight Zone, with each rung more severe and surreal. The film's terrific greensman Robbie Church articulated that journey by working tirelessly to mask the Savannah landscape. Italian cypress, topiaries and herb fields inspired by The French Laundry were separated by four tons of white limestone paths, which were contrasted with black mulch and burnt driftwood. Next we moved into TwinMotion and Unreal Engine. So much of our set required practical lighting to enable DP Peter Deming to shoot three hundred sixty degrees. His lighting therefore, had to be baked into the design. Set Designer Jenny Wentling was phenomenal at developing this, creating fly- throughs and renderings that helped guide the key grip and gaffer photo-realistically.
