LMGI COMPASS | Summer 2022 • 21 IN THE HEIGHTS This energetic, colorful and dazzling New York movie honors the diverse Latinx communities of Upper Manhattan. Immigrants from Cuba and the Dominican Republic sing and dance their way through one typically humid and sweaty summer in tight apartments, sunbaked alleys, scenic overlooks, fire escapes and one gigantic public pool as they ponder important decisions about their future. In the Heights No Time to Die TOPGUN:MAVERICK NO TIME TO DIE Exotic locations are the staple of any Bond film, and this explosive entry spans the globe as he is dragged from his idyllic retirement retreat in Jamaica into one more treacherous mission. There's the house on a frozen lake in Norway, the villain's lair on the rocky Faroe Islands and the M16 headquarters in London. A breathtaking car chase in the medieval city of Matera, Italy, sets the wheels in motion as he rails around the streets in his Aston Martin DB5 and a spectacular jump from a Roman aqueduct in Gavina, Italy, that is perfectly suited for a death-defying Bond stunt. TOPGUN:MAVERICK In follow up to the iconic '80s film Top Gun, we are taken on a thrilling ride through epic scenery and practical flight sequences from the Mojave Desert and Owens Valley to the dry lakebeds in Bravo 20, Nevada. Aerial dogfight training and scenes of combat maneuver above the snow-covered Cascade Range in Northern Washington and Lake Tahoe. Scenes on the ground play out at the Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, on the deck of an aircraft carrier, and at a home in San Pedro—the palm trees and ocean breeze reminding us that we are in Southern California.
