In addition to the increased education funding, legislators removed the expansion to the state's private school tuition tax credit the budget. However, the legislature passed a bill establishing the largest private school voucher program in the nation. AEA opposes private school vouchers and tuition tax credits because they divert money from our public schools into private religious schools without any accountability. While no decisions have been made by the education coalition on next steps to stop voucher expansion, what we do know is that without a pro-public education governor and majority in our state legislature, the attacks on our public schools will continue. is election we need your help to get out the vote for AEA's recommended candidates.
