JP: Greg Chapman. I'll give a shout- out every chance I get, those tracks where Greg had to deal with a lot of elements were amazing. There was very little ADR shot for technical reasons. My approach is always to just take as little as possible that's needed from the ADR and supplement the production. I will take different syllables of production to make a cohesive sentence and try and keep the original performance as preserved as possible. For some of Willem Dafoe's lines, I would just take the odd syllable, a P or B, to clarify him in that rain scene in particular, but entire lines very rarely. And most of the ADR consisted of add lines or line changes. Because of the plugins that are available to us these days, it's just incredible how much production can be saved, and I'm a huge advocate of that. I am not a fan of over-processing, which I also say every chance I get as well. [laughs] I don't like things to sound artificial when it comes from production, and that didn't need to be the case when it came to Greg's recordings. Anything that I applied to the tracks was as natural as I could make it. The rain was minimized but still on the track. And because of the additional effects and design, it just all sat in so nicely.
