The award went to the SAVANNAH REGIONAL FILM COMMISSION who pulled out all the stops so The Underground Railroad could steam ahead. "As a former location manager, this really does mean a lot to me," said BETH NELSON, as she accepted the award on behalf of her staff, the mayor, the council and all the municipal departments of the city of Savannah that made the lming possible. "I would like to say a very special thank you to Alison Taylor/ LMGI and her entire location team. We just had a wonderful relationship and enjoyed the whole process! I would also like to thank Barry Jenkins for bringing this beautiful show to Savannah and believing he could make it work in our city." PRESENTER JON SEDA The Savannah Railroad Museum supplied the bones from which the actual railroad that literally transported slaves escaping towards freedom was created, and the surrounding area provided the mansions, swamps and elds that immersed the story in a very speci c time and place. The historic district, with Savannah City Hall at its center, was transformed to a city in the mid-1800s. BRINGING THE WHERE Commercials tell epic tales in minutes, sometimes seconds—and this year's entries were packed with locales that grabbed you from frame one. Mini-masterpieces dazzled with locations in Argentina, Chile, California and the UK. Actor Nadine Velazquez (Six, The League, My Name Is Earl, Queens) presented, along with her pooch Bibi, the award for OUTSTANDING LOCATIONS IN A COMMERCIAL to the California team for the APPLE WATCH SERIES 6 spot. LM/SCOUT MATTHEW DELOACH/LMGI accepted on behalf of his team. JOF HANWRIGHT/LMGI, GALIDAN NAUBER/LMGI and BRENT GAFFAN provided eye-popping visuals from Big Bear, Los Angeles, Big Sur and the Sonoma Coast. "I really do this work with all my heart and soul, and I put everything into it, and this is an amazing experience to accept this award!" said DeLoach. "To the LMGI, thank you for the recognition, you are doing an amazing job and you are so important to us!" Jon Seda (Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Justice) gave a nod to his Australian location team for its work on his new series La Brea before noting that this year's nominees for OUTSTANDING LOCATIONS IN A CONTEMPORARY TELEVISION series are as "visually thrilling as they are dramatically breathtaking." From Toronto and environs playing for a dystopian & authoritarian United States and a still democratic Canada (The Handmaid's Tale), the PRESENTER NADINE VELAZQUEZ PRESENTER CHRIS GEERE
