FILTERED SEARCH PAGE RESULTS. C. HOOPS AND POODLES. 1952 WALLPAPER PATTERN FROM UNITED WALLPAPER INC. FOUND IN THE WALLCOVERINGS DEPARTMENT. D. NO. 19 SIDE CHAIR, CIRCA 1860. MANUFACTURED BY GEBRÜDER (BROTHERS) THONET. Although part of the Smithsonian complex, the Cooper Hewitt deseres specifi c attention for anyone interested the history of design. The collection is broken up into four departments, drawings, prints and graphic design, product design and decorative arts, textiles and wallcoverings. Selecting any one of the departments will take you to page one of several hundred, featuring thousands of items, so searching the collection is going to be more useful than browsing. There are two ways to search the site, if you search from the main page, you will get featured items, posts and exhibitions about the item, if you search from the collection page, you will get indivdual results of items in the collection. These individual results can also go on for hundreds or thousands of examples, but there are fi lters along the right that allow a narrowing of the items to help focus the search. f you type in a date, it will return results fi ltered by when the object was created, and you can order results by decade, but chances are there will be hundreds of search results to go through. Objects without rights restrictions can be downloaded in high resolution, and restricted objects give information on the rights and usage. C A B D
