#WeLoveOurESPs Our schools wouldn't be complete without you. ESPROFESSIONAL FALL 2021 | ADVOCATE 9 Take Action on ESP Day National Education Support Professional (ESP) Day is November 17, 2021! Join AEA, NEA, and schools across the country during American Education Week as we show appreciation for our nation's amazing school support staff. Every year since 1987, we have celebrated their dedication and commitment to education, but these past couple of years, we have seen ESPs go well beyond anything we have seen before. During this pandemic, ESPs have been busy passing out meals to their communities, sanitizing school buildings, maintaining proper HVAC systems, supporting distance learning, making phone calls to check on students, and so much more. Whether our schools are virtual, in-person, or a mix of both, ESPs are helping to ensure students are safe, healthy, and ready to learn. On ESP Day, join us to honor and advocate for the ESPs who continue keeping students safe, healthy, and ready to learn. Below are some ideas for celebrating ESP Day and ways for you to show your support: • Host a virtual appreciation event for ESPs in your school or district using a video conferencing platform. Share photos (or screenshots) of the event on social media. • Arrange a safe food or gi delivery for ESPs in your school or district. • Encourage teachers, students, and parents to mail or email a thank you letter to ESPs in their schools. • Give a social media shout out to ESPs who have been going above and beyond to help school communities during this pandemic. You can get creative through photos, videos, and more! Use #WeLoveOurESPs in your posts. Learn more about ESP Day and how you can celebrate at nea.org/espday.
