Lee Declared 'Maker & Shaker'
LM Daniel Lee/LMGI received
the top honor in Outstanding
Creative Use of a Location
category at the First Annual
Makers & Shakers Awards
for his work on the feature
film The Last Black Man in
San Francisco. The story
of a young man's efforts to
reclaim his family home in
a gentrifying city may be
location specific, but the
theme is universal. "The tech
boom has been increasing the
financial gap in San Francisco
for a while now," explains Lee.
"This driving force pushed
The Last Black Man in San
Francisco to be written. It is
a great honor to have won an
overseas award for such an
American story."
The Location Guide, Makers
Magazine, and FOCUS
sponsor the awards to bring
attention to groundbreaking
ideas and initiatives from
players across the spectrum
of the global creative screen
industry.
The virtual ceremony was held December 14, 2020. The Last Black
Man in San Francisco also garnered Lee last year's LMGI Award for Best
Contemporary Feature Film.
