Your smile was contagious. We could not have done it without you. I started with a notebook sketch, then a quick Rhino model, but quickly realized that the best way to pitch the set and to understand how it would work would be a set model. One can have the best 3D and visualization tools in the world, but sometimes a desktop model is the best way to share your ideas. So the Art Department started with foam core and clay and got to it. Once we got every department to buy off on the model, we digitally scanned it and Lindsay once again got to work creating working drawings and modeling details. Safety and lighting required the set not be built higher than twenty-four feet, and even though I had hoped for thirty, in the end, this was probably best for all involved given the complexity of what needed to happen in this set.
