SAGAFTRA.ORG // SAG-AFTRA SPECIAL ISSUE 2021 40 EACH STATUETTE IS CREATED AT THE AMERICAN FINE ARTS FOUNDRY IN BURBANK, CALIFORNIA, AND TAKES THE WORK OF MORE THAN 10 ARTISANS. IT TAKES THREE TO FOUR WEEKS TO CREATE THE STATUETTES. THE PROCESS MORE THAN 1,000 POUNDS OF MATERIAL IS USED IN THE STATUETTES' CREATION, INCLUDING WAX, CERAMIC, GRANITE AND BRONZE. THE ARMS AND HANDS ARE CREATED SEPARATELY FROM THE REST OF THE FIGURE AND ADDED LATER. THE MOST CRITICAL PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTION IS THE SLURRY WAX AND SILICA, WHICH HELPS PRESERVE THE FIGURE'S FINER DETAILS. THE FIGURE IS DIPPED IN SILICA UP TO EIGHT TIMES WITH A DRYING PROCESS OF TWO TO THREE HOURS. THE MATERIALS CONTINUES
