Romey is a senior technologist with over 20 years of experience in harvesting efficiencies by challenging the norm, and is passionate about product and process, as well as servicing entertainment production through technol- ogy-based solutions. He has delivered innovative solutions for theme parks, broadcasting, production, gaming, mobile and big data analytics in mis- sion-critical environments. Romey joins FuseFX after spending the last year as the senior director of creative media pipeline at Madison Square Garden. There, he worked with pro- duction, show, immersive and facility project teams to build a unified production tracking platform to solve challenging business intelligence needs. Previously, he worked for Walt Disney Imagineering. Other experience includes nine years at Zoic Studios, the Natural History Museum Planetarium Space Show and Reality Check Studios. He is a longtime member of the Visual Effects Society, DAVE CONCORS Zoo Digital, the global provider of localization services for the media entertainment industry, has appointed Emmy Award-winning re-recording mixer Dave Concors head of sound. Based in LA, Concors spent more than 20 years at Disney, working on foreign theatrical releases, including mixing work on Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Lucasfilm projects. He won an Emmy for outstanding sound mixing for his work on ER, and has also contributed to movies such as The Breakfast Club, Top Gun and Scarface. As head of sound at Zoo Digital, Concors will further develop dubbing services offered to Hollywood clients and streaming service providers through theatri- cal quality audio mixing. DAVE CHAPMAN Santa Monica, CA's Endless Noise has named Dave Chapman to the post of creative director and partner. The announcement comes from Jeff Elmassian, the Grammy Award-winning composer, orchestrator, con- ductor and musician who runs the music and sound design company. Chapman is a longtime music and audio produc- er, engineer and mixer who co-founded (along with Samuel Creager) Ugly Duck Studios in Boston in 2013. Chapman and Creager, both of whom relocated to LA in 2019, remain actively involved with Ugly Duck, which is currently being managed by Dan Babai. Ugly Duck's clients include Walt Disney Studios, LucasArts, NPR, The New York Times, the BBC, Comcast, MTV, AT&T, Buick and the History Channel. PETER JOHNSON Boutique post production shop Wax, which has loca- tions in New York City and Boston, has added editor Peter Johnson to its team. Johnson's editorial style is largely influenced by his multicultural upbringing. He grew up in New York, Paris and London in the '80s and his father was a writer, while his mother was a fashion designer. Some of Johnson's most notable work includes Smirnoff's Smirnoff Saber and Johnnie Walker's Black Magick, both of which garnered honors at the AICP Awards. Beyond commercials and branded content, he has worked on a num- ber of high profile music videos, including Kanye West's Stronger and Jay-Z and Kanye West's Ni**as in Paris. ANTONIO GOMEZ-PAN Creative editorial house Final Cut has added editor Antonio to their roster. He will be based out of the LA office. Gómez-Pan was born in Madrid and graduated with a BA degree in film editing from the ESCAC film school in Spain. He has edited advertising projects that have gone on to win awards at Cannes Lions and at the Berlin Film Festival in various categories. In addition to cutting many music videos, Gómez-Pan has worked on proj- ects for brands such as Coca-Cola, Nike, Amazon, Adidas, Chanel, North Face, Toyota, Ikea, Samsung and Volkswagen. He recently finished work on the doc- umentary series &Music for Quibi, directed by LA-based artist, filmmaker and historian Calmatic, out of production company Prettybird. His short film work includes Mi Amigo Invisible and Elefante, among many others. PAUL SALVINI Global visual effects and animation company Dneg in London has appointed Paul Salvini as global chief technology officer. The company has expanded sub- stantially in recent years, adding several new business lines, new facilities in North America and India, and growing to over 7,000 employees across its global of- fices. Today, Dneg has studios in London, Vancouver, Mumbai, Los Angeles, Chennai, Montréal and Chandigarh. In his new role, Salvini will be responsible for developing a new and innova- tive technology vision for the company, managing its global technology and R&D teams, and overseeing technology initiatives across all of its key offerings. The studio specializes in visual effects for film and episodic content, feature an- imation, stereo conversion and virtual production. Its ReDefine division serves an expanding international market and independent filmmakers. JUSTIN BRUKMAN New York City creative editorial house Final Cut, along with VFX and post production company Significant Others, have announced the addition of Justin Brukman in the newly-created role of US man- aging director and director of global new business. An experienced leader with a proven ability to build businesses, nurture talent and create cultures in which highly-motivated teams do their best work, Brukman has consistently delivered strong results for clients and an engaging work environment. He is best known for his time as executive producer and managing director of MPC in New York, and later for the whole of North America. Brukman moved stateside from the London office in 2010 to launch the company's US presence. In less than seven years, he grew the New York office from a staff of six to more than 120, increasing revenue and building deep client relationships across key media categories. In addition to their work for agencies, like Droga5, Anomaly, R/GA, Wieden+Kennedy, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBH/New York, BBDO, Publicis, and Y&R, MPC also made an aggressive move into emerging technologies, like VR, AR and mixed reality. MO SOBHY SpinVFX, with location in Toronto and Atlanta, has added VFX supervisor Mo Sobhy to its creative team. Sobhy made his foray into the industry as a CG generalist and spent many years working through each department, giving him an intimate knowledge of the VFX pipeline. His credits include work on such titles as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Mary Poppins Returns, Stranger Things, Zombieland 2: Double Tap, and Marvel's highly-anticipated series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
