The regional transportation system has evolved, and now natives and newcomers alike can simply pick up an easy-to-follow map, and with some change in their pockets, arrive at any number of Hollywood locations with ease. G DASH Hollywood shuttle runs between Highland and Vermont Aves., Franklin Ave. and Santa Monica Blvd. Anyone can hop on DASH shuttle for 25¢ (seniors only 10¢) at one of the 8 Holly- wood stops where the shuttle bus arrives approx- imately every half hour. DASH Beachwood Canyon connects Argyle & Hol- lywood Red Line Station and runs north to Beachwood & Westshire with 11 stops along the route. Although there are no connections to destinations out- side of Hollywood, DASH provides effective shorter distance transport. For longer routes there is the Metro Rail. The $1.25 ticket ($1.50 after July 1) is obtained at the self-service machines located within the stations. An all-day pass good for DASH, Metro buses and the Metro Subway, is only $5.00 ($6.00 after July 1). The Metro Rail Red Line goes between North Hollywood and Union Station, with trains in both directions arriving approximately every ten minutes at the three Hollywood stops. From Hollywood, Universal Studios can be reached in five minutes and downtown in 15 minutes. Connections can be made to Pasadena on the Gold Line, to Long Beach via the Blue and Green Lines, LAX via the Green Line, and to a number of further locations from downtown’s Union Station via Metrolink trains. Maps are available on site which clearly mark distances and appropriate transfers. DASH Hollywood runs from 7am to 8:50 pm Monday-Friday weekdays and 9am to 6:50pm weekends and holidays. DASH Beach- wood runs 6:45am to 7:45pm weekdays and 7:40am to 6:30pm on Saturdays. Saturdays (no service on Sundays or major holidays). Metro Subway Red Line operates from 4:31am to 1:11am.
