THE ARTISAN SUMMER 2020 • 9 GUILD NEWS GUILD NEWS We are living through it now. The coronavirus has hijacked all of our lives. We all find it con- fusing, scary and upset- ting. I feel it is impor- tant to see these diffi- cult times as life lessons. When the forecast seems to be dark, and when you feel alone or dismayed, it is better to embrace the positive than the showers that are raining around you. When you can take control of the difficult times, you can blossom into a stronger and wiser person. As Buddha says, "No one saves us but our- selves." You have within you everything you need to deal with whatever the world can throw at you. I am strong because I have been weak. I am fearless because I have been afraid and I am wise (at times) because I have been fooled. Remind yourself this will not last forever. I suggest we start today and make someone else's day better. They started The Mask Initiative and have been plotting and manufacturing masks and parts to donate and drop off to local first responders in hospitals and clinics. by Kim M. Ferry not try to improve situa- tions for a total stranger, or a family member in need, or a nurse? I have been researching some wonderful "Random Acts of Kindness" and the effect it can have on people who are willing to share of themselves and do for others. I think most of us get caught up in our own lives and we forget the simplest things can make the most signifi- cant impact on someone else. A smile, a compli- ment, paying for a meal, or maybe it's as simple as holding the elevator! I need to do something while stuck at home, so I am challenging others to help. Every random act of kindness makes the world a better and nicer place. These are things we can do from home, or in your neighborhood. It's helping others, it's kindness shared and I would prefer to do something positive to make a difference. I am excited to see all of the random acts of kindness that YOU come up with! When it comes from the heart, it makes a big difference. Do something for someone else today. "Acts of Kindness" can make an impact on Start today … and make someone else's day better.
