MUSIC VIDEOS www.postmagazine.com 17 POST JULY/AUG 2020 unique brand of sunny, alternative pop. Their latest video, SOS, takes them to a far-away planet where the grass is always green and blue skies stretch as far as the eye can see. In the world of the Scarlet Pleasure Garden, robot vacuum cleaners are your only friend and computer routers grow outdoors like plants. SOS is from the band's new LP, "Garden", which dropped on June 19th. The soundtrack follows a sped-up, slow reggae sound, reminiscent of Sting and The Police. High production quality music videos from the early 2000s served as the inspiration for SOS, notes Copenhagen Records' creative director Stine Thorbøll. "Both on the overall look of the video and the comical twists, we wanted the band to have a lot of different props to interact with in the garden to make the video playful and weird…[It's] a very ob- vious human attempt to control nature. We really liked the idea of having high energy band perfor- mances in that setting." The video was directed by Dolcerocca, who used a Red camera and 12mm, 16mm and 20mm prime lenses, as well as a zoom for the running shots. Exteriors were lit by the sun and sim- ple reflecting boards. The video was edited by Dolcerocca in Adobe Premiere, and Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve was used for the grade. Blue and green screens were used for the VFX shots, which were composited in Foundry's Nuke. Scarlet Pleasure is comprised of Emil Goll (vo- cals/guitar), Alexander Malone (bass) and Joachim Dencker (drums). Tainy and J. Balvin — Agua Neon16 and Interscope Records recently re- leased Tainy and J. Balvin's Agua music vid- eo, which offers a glimpse into the upcoming Paramount Animation/Nickelodeon film, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run. In the vid- eo, J. Balvin joins the animated 3D characters for an underwater excursion while dancing along to a tropical vibe produced by Tainy. The movie will be released digitally in the US via video-on-demand in early 2021 and then move exclusively to CBS All Access, ViacomCBS's subscription VOD and live-streaming service. Paramount Animation, the animation division of Paramount Pictures, produced the animated characters for the feature, which were then used in the video. Jared Shelton of Interscope Records (interscope.com) oversaw the shoot, along with the team from 36 Grados (www.36grados.com) in Colombia. According to Rasanath (Razzy) Escalona, post production strategic leader at 36 Grados, making the video was a great experience that involved lots of experimentation and discovery. "In the stage of pre-production, we were told that we cannot animate any characters, and no Scarlet Pleasure's SOS video was shot using a Red camera. Color grading was performed using Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve. Adobe Premiere was used for the edit.
