THE ARTISAN FALL 2019 • 61 Craig Brewer, they found four photos of Rudy in that period to reference. Rudy had a small Afro that was receding in the corners and slightly thinning in his crown in a cul-de-sac shape on top corner to corner. To create a receding appear- ance on Eddie without remov- ing his own existing hairline in the corners, she designed a wig for Rudy with a hairline that extended past Eddie's own just in the center of his forehead and the corners met Eddie's hairline giving the appearance that he was receding. It was important to Stacey that this wig was custom-made and hand-ventilated to look real. She turned to her longtime wigmaker, Justin Stafford, to make the wig per her specific instruction. Justin not only hand-ventilated the hair into the custom-fitted lace, he also color matched the lace to Eddie's skin tone and made the precise texture that Stacey desired. To produce the texture, Justin hand-wrapped toothpicks with straight Inset photos courtesy of Stacey Morris
