78 • THE ARTISAN FALL 2019 78 THE ARTISAN FALL 2019 Finally, we get to our Bosley–Elizabeth Banks. Elizabeth was producing, writing, act- ing, and directing during this fi lm. Obviously, this created quite an interesting work dynamic. As the make-up department head, I had to be prepared with organized quick changes on set, on the back of moving vehicles on race tracks, parking lots in ambulances, and fi elds. Usually, a meeting with other executives, stunts, assis- tant directors, props, and anything else that needed her attention could arise during those brief moments of enhancing a beauty look in the chair (and even sometimes standing!). To say the least, doing seven pictures together with Elizabeth has helped us communicate and work together with speed. She is quite the dynamo, and you have to be prepared to run alongside her! Together, we created smart and contempo- rary beauty looks with interchangeable designs that could accommodate just that. Skin prep and emollience is essential to assisting and eas- ing a long-wear look we could maintain, with minimal fuss and maximum results. Elizabeth Banks.
