The trio of talent significantly bol- sters Cabin's roster, adding depth across mediums and creative styles for clients, whether in commer- cials, music videos, branded content or short-form storytelling. "We're thrilled to welcome Greg and Debbie to our roster, and to officially elevate Scott, who has been doing great work with us for several years," says Carr Schilling, managing partner at Cabin. "Each of these talented editors brings varied experi- ence and visual styles to our team, which is not only a benefit for our clients but also for the rest of our roster as we collaborate and share ideas." Scruton joins Cabin from Arcade Edit, with a focus on visual storytelling and comedy. He has worked on dozens of high-profile commercials and music videos throughout his career, including Pepsi's 2019 Grammys spot Okurrr starring Cardi B, Palms Resort Casino's star-studded Unstatus Quo and Kendrick Lamar's iconic Humble music video, for which he earned an AICE Award. He's also com- pleted projects for Anomaly, Wieden + Kennedy, 72andSunny, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Dave Meyers and Nadia Lee Cohen, among others. Feature film standout Berman joins Cabin on the heels of her successful run with Marvel Studios, having recently served as an editor on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Panther and Captain Marvel. Her strengths as a storyteller extend across mediums, with experience editing ev- erything from PSAs and documentaries to animated features. Now expanding her commercial portfolio with Cabin, Berman is currently at work on a Toyota campaign through Saatchi & Saatchi; she will con- tinue to work in features as well. Butzer was recently promoted to editor after joining the company in 2017 and honing his talent across many platforms, including commercials, music videos and documentaries, with particular focus in visual storytelling, narrative and automo- tive work. His recent credits include Every Day Is Your Day for Gatorade celebrating the 2019 Women's World Cup, The Professor for Mercedes Benz and Vince Staples' Fun! music video. Butzer has worked with top ad agencies and directors, including TBWA\Chiat\Day, Wieden+Kennedy, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Team One, Marcus Sonderland, Ryan Booth and Rachel McDonald. Butzer previously held editorial positions at Final Cut and Whitehouse Post. AVID MEDIA COMPOSER TO SUPPORT PRORES RAW AND DNX CODECS BURLINGTON, MA — Avid (www.avid.com) has announced that Media Composer will deliver native support for Apple's ProRes RAW camera codec and support for ProRes playback and encoding on Windows. In addition, Apple will provide 64-bit decoders for DNxHR and DNxHD codecs within the Pro Video Formats package that is available from Apple as a free download for all users. These integrations will allow content creators and post produc- tion companies to natively create high-quality ProRes content regardless of their OS and save time during the creative storytelling process. ProRes is a high-performance editing codec that provides multistream, high-quality images and low complexity for premium realtime editing. The codec, which will be available to Media Composer users on Windows, supports frame sizes ranging from SD and HD to 2K, 4K and beyond at full resolution with image-quality preservation and reduced storage rates. In addition, Media Composer for MacOS and Windows, which was completely redesigned for 2019, also will add native support for ProRes RAW. ProRes RAW applies ProRes compression to the raw data from a camera sensor to provide the flexibility of RAW video with the performance of ProRes for editing high-res- olution outputs. Finally, the continued availability of Avid's DNxHD and DNxHR decoders for MacOS is a benefit to content creators using Apple and Avid products and will ensure the longevity of content creators' DNx material encoded in MXF and QuickTime files. "This collaboration democratizes content creation by removing the boundaries posed by different operating systems and opens the door to a greater number of higher-qual- ity delivery formats," says Rob D'Amico, director of product marketing, Avid. "Adding support for ProRes for Windows, native ProRes RAW and DNx codecs is yet another way Media Composer deals with advancements in technology so editors can stay focused on creative storytelling."
