National Board Certification
ePortfolio
The National Board for Professional
Teaching Standards is implementing an
electronic portfolio submission process
for National Board Certification called
ePortfolio.
What exactly does this mean? Simply
put, it means no more paper submissions.
Candidates and participants will no longer need to mail portfolio entries to San
Antonio for scoring. Instead, they will
upload all portfolio materials – including
videos – into the ePortfolio online platform.
ePortfolio will simplify the submission process for our candidates and participants as
well as streamline our scoring processes.
If you would like to speak with someone
regarding the new submission process, call
1-800-22-TEACH between 8:00 am and
6:00 pm CST, Monday through Friday.

Young Ambassadors Program
The Smithsonian Latino Center's Young
Ambassadors Program (YAP) fosters the next
generation of Latino leaders in the arts, sciences, and humanities via the Smithsonian
Institution and its resources. YAP, a college
preparatory and leadership program, encourages graduating high school seniors to explore a
wide range of academic and career opportunities through the lens of the Latino experience.
Up to 24 students are selected for an all-expense-paid, interdisciplinary training seminar in
Washington, D.C., and a four-week paid internship in a museum and cultural institution in the
U.S. and Puerto Rico, including Smithsonianaffiliated organizations. Those selected to
participate have demonstrated an interest in and
commitment to the arts, sciences, or humanities as it pertains to Latino communities and
cultures. Through this program, Latino youth are
empowered to develop leadership and academic skills and foster pride in their own cultural
heritage. Apply online at latino.si.edu/programs/
