Christensen
Brings Location-
Savvy to the
NMFO
Location veteran and Santa
Fe resident Todd Christensen,
LMGI was appointed as Head
of the New Mexico Film Office.
Christensen has focused
his career on New Mexico
since 2003, managing films,
including The Ballad of Buster
Scruggs, 12 Strong, Sicario:
Day of the Soldada, The Men
Who Stare at Goats and Sicario.
LMGI business partner, the New
Mexico Film Office, is delighted
to have him join their team.
As a former location manager,
Christensen understands
the importance of close
collaboration between the
state film office and tribal
governments, as well as city
and county film liaisons. "My
experience of over 20 years
of working in the Location
Department is key to my
success here at the NMFO,"
comments Christensen.
"Although I will say there is a
learning curve. This is my first

full-time job in 28 years, so
I'm adjusting. I am excited to
be in the position to make a
difference in the New Mexico
film world."
Christensen has a lot of
ammunition. New Mexico is
on the move to expand as
one of the fastest growing
film production hubs in the
United States. They are more
than doubling their annual
state spending cap on film
incentives from $50 million to
$110 million in a single fiscal
year. NBCUniversal recently
announced a new television
and film studio in a warehouse
district north of Albuquerque.
"I believe our new incentive,
coupled with my community
outreach, will bring more
crew and work to all areas
of the state, benefiting our
schools, colleges and native
population. Every movie has
challenges and there can be
logistical nightmares," he
said. "That's why there has to
be cooperation with the state
and the city and county film
offices. I want to help with
that. I want to be available and
accessible."
