Photo by Laura Berning King, North by Northwest, The Avengers, Superman, Carlito's Way… An engaging group of location professionals were briefed on the specifics of filming at the iconic Grand Central Terminal, as well information on train lines, car and other stations within the sprawling MTA system. The scouts walked through dramatic glass corridors at ceiling level, revealing the dynamic cavernous space below. This amazing historic space has no location fee for television and film projects— only staffing and security fees are required. Thank you Laura Berning of the film office and Meredith Conti and Marissa Cunningham of the MTA for the access to such a well- preserved historic cinematic venue. Our 1k/2020 Membership Drive is picking up steam in the Big Apple. New York LMGI members participated in a grand tour of the renowned Grand Central Terminal, hosted by the New York State Governor's Office of Motion Picture & Television Development and the MTA/ Metro-North Railroad. The Beaux-Arts train station is, according to a Travel + Leisure survey, "The world's number six most visited tourist attraction." The magnificent architectural craftsmanship of this monumental space draws more than 21.6 million visitors annually, ebbing and flowing through the dramatic space.
