Leblon Brazillionaire – Winner: Best in Show 1½ oz. Leblon cachaça ¾ oz. Cherry Heering 1 oz. Perfect Purée of Napa Valley passion fruit purée 1½ oz. fresh lime sour (3:2 ratio of fresh lime to simple syrup) 8–10 fresh cilantro leaves 2 drops Sriracha sauce Combine ingredients and shake with ice. Strain over fresh ice. Passion Potion (Don Q) Tobin James gets to work on the winning cocktail, the Leblon Brazillionaire. After much debate and a very close vote, Leblon Cachaça’s Leblon Brazillionaire was crowned the 2010 Mixology Competition winner, having received the most votes from attendees. THE TASTING PANEL fell hard for this cocktail’s blend of sweet and spicy—Sriracha may be an ingredient to watch out for!—and we encourage you to sample some of the winning cocktails on your own. 1½ oz. Don Q Crystal tequila 1 oz. Don Q Limón 1 oz. passion fruit purée ½ oz. lime juice ½ oz. simple syrup 3 basil leaves 1 basil sprig for garnish Combine all ingredients in a shaker and shake vigorously for 5 seconds (long shake); wide strain (to allow little pieces of basil to go into the cocktail) into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish by floating the basil sprig in the center of the cocktail. Mayahuel (Wirtz Beverage) 1½ oz. Herradura Reposado tequila ½ oz. Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur ¾ oz. fresh orange juice ½ oz. fresh lime juice ¾ oz. agave syrup 6–8 mint leaves Dash of Angostura orange bitters Combine all ingredients.
