The former Sony PlayStation manager and Electronic Arts studio executive and producer will focus on bringing Method Studios' creative talent and technology resources to game developers and publishers to produce cinematics, trailers and teasers, marketing and social content. Hans ten Cate is a long-time game industry executive who has produced and designed AAA games for PC, console and mobile, and negotiated business and technology partnerships for the industry's largest publishers as well as start- ups. He spent a decade at EA as an executive producer and later as senior di- rector of business development for EA Partners. He later co-founded MaxPlay. BOB WINTER, SHAWN HILLIER Framestore has brought on (L-R) Bob Winter and Shawn Hillier to its Montreal studio. They will both serve as VFX supervisors, and bring knowledge, creativity and experience in feature film and high-end TV to Framestore, having worked with such clients as Disney, Marvel, Universal, Warner Bros. and Netflix. Over the past 20 years, Winter has worked on some of the biggest titles and franchises. He was one of the first members of MPC's Montreal team, serving as VFX supervisor on Suicide Squad (2016), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). Hillier spent 14 years at ILM and has background in films, including Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), Pacific Rim (2013) and Jurassic World (2015). MARIE-JOSEE HUOT Rodeo FX welcomes Marie-Josée Huot as producer in its advertising department in Montreal. Bringing more than 25 years of experience in high-end post production, Huot has worked with clients that include Loto-Quebec, IGA, Videotron, St-Hubert, SAAQ, Subway, Toyota, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Bell and Air Canada. Her career includes work at Buzz, Mokko Studio, Technicolor, Shed Bureau de Post, Post Moderne and Difuze, before coming onboard at Rodeo FX. ANJANI B KUUMAR LA's Prime Focus Technologies (PFT) welcomes Anjani B Kuumar as its new president. Kuumar has over 23 years of experience in business, HR and media operations. In his new role, he will help further PFT's growth initiatives, with focus on the company's brands services business. He will also lead the company's human resources function in India. Kuumar has worked with such organizations as Sony Pictures Networks, GE, ICI and Mattel. WALTER VOLPATTO Senior colorist Walter Volpatto has joined LA's Efilm, bringing with him 15 years of experience and credits that include work on Dunkirk, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and most recently, Amazon Studios' Homecoming. Volpatto joins Efilm from FotoKem, where he started in the digital intermediate business before progressively shifting toward fully-digital workflows while navigating emerging technologies such as HDR. Some additional credits include work on Green Book, The Hateful Eight, Independence Day: Resurgence and Bad Moms. JOHN LEAMY New York creative services company BigStar has added creative director John Leamy to its team. Leamy brings more than two decades of experience in shaping advertising, marketing and branding campaigns for such clients as ABC, Red Bull, MGM Grand and LG. Leamy is currently working on the title design and branding for the upcoming PBS series Chasing the Moon. Prior to joining BigStar, he was executive creative director at Leroy & Clarkson, creative director at Spontaneous, and a long-time creative partner of the rock band U2, creating live concert visuals, music videos, film and print content. ELLE LOCKHART, ANTONIA VLASTO, POLLY DURRANCE London VFX studio Electric Theatre Collective adds three new hires to its production team: Elle Lockhart, Polly Durrance and Antonia Vlasto. Lockhart joins the studio from Touch Surgery, where she ran the Johnson and Johnson ac- count. Prior to that, she worked at Analog as a VFX producer, where she delivered three global campaigns for Nike. At Electric, she will serve as producer for Martini and Toyota. Vlasto joins Electric, working with clients such as Mercedes, Tourism Ireland and Tui. She joins from 750MPH, where, over a four-year period, she served as producer on Nike, Great Western Railway, VW and Amazon. Durrance serves as producer on H&M, TK Maxx and Carphone Warehouse. She joins the company from Unit, where she helped launch the studio's in-house design collective. KARSTEN HECKER Karsten Hecker has joined Bournmouth, UK's Outpost VFX as head of technology. He will lead the studio's security, pipeline, systems, engineering and IT teams. Most recently, Hecker was head of technology at MPC. Before that, he spent eight years at Framestore, during which he also completed a PhD on ACES and OCIO color management in film and VFX.
