48 The Costume Designer Summer 2018 On Sunday, June 3, the UCLA/TFT David C. Copley Center for the Study of Costume Design hosted the 4th Annual Dorothy Richards Costume Educator's Luncheon. Costume educators from all over the United States met and discussed innovations in the Costume Design curriculum for film and television. Forty-five participants were on hand this year, the largest group ever. The following 17 CDG mem- bers were in attendance: Vice President Catherine Adair, Melinda Eshelman, Gina DeDomenico Flanagan, Marcy Froehlich, Terry Gordon, Chrisi Karvonides-Dushenko, Deborah Nadool- man Landis, Francine Lecoultre, Juan Lopez, Maggie Morgan, May Routh (retiree), Shoshana Rubin, Jane Ruhm (retiree), Jac- queline Saint Anne, Jessica Peel-Scott, Pamela Shaw, and Van- essa Vogel. This year highlighted three presentations: Julia Koerner (UCLA Art & Architecture assistant adjunct professor) discussed her work in 3D printing for fashion and costume, including her collaboration with CD Ruth Carter on Black Panther; Maya Roth, the founder/owner of CADFab Digital, discussed digital fabric printing; and CD Gina DeDomenico Flanagan (UCLA lecturer) discussed her work and transition from costume illustrator to costume concept artist. The attendees also shared information about their programs, new course ideas, conferences/symposiums, etc. It was a wonderful collegiate day!
