SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS PREVIEW T he 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® will be simulcast live from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center on TNT and TBS on Jan. 27, 2013 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. he awards honor the finest film and television performances from 2012. SAG-AFTRA MEMBERS CHOOSE WHO RECEIVES THE ACTOR® Debuting in 1995, the SAG Awards® is the first and only televised awards show to exclusively honor performers. Recipients of the coveted Actor® statuette are chosen by you, the SAG-AFTRA membership, making the SAG Awards the only top industry honors for actors, voted upon exclusively by union members. he 19th Annual SAG Awards Nominating Committees — one for Motion Pictures and one for Primetime Television — were randomly selected from paid-up, active SAG members prior to merger on March 16. Each committee is made up of 2,100 members from across the United States and is reconstituted each spring. Members who serve on a nominating committee may not be eligible to be selected for that committee again for another eight years. Nominations will be announced Dec. 12 and all paid-up, active members of the newly-merged union, will get to vote in January on who receives he Actor.
