MEMBERS HELP AFTRA FOUNDATION, FOUNDATION HELPS MEMBERS

he AFTRA Foundation is building for the future of union members. Nationally and locally, programs
and scholarships provide the support and tools needed by members to handle not only the professional aspects of their careers, but the personal as well. Founded in 1997, the AFTRA Foundation is a
nonprofit organization separate from the union and funded solely by generosity, not member dues. he
Foundation supports numerous programs, scholarships, and benefit funds, like the Frank Nelson Sick and Benefit Fund and the George Heller Memorial Scholarship, and also provides grants and support to organizations that directly aid union members, like the Hellman Center in Chicago and Career Transition for Dancers. he AFTRA Media and Entertainment Excellence Awards, the AMEEs, is an annual gala benefiting the Foundation. "he Foundation's programs and opportunities directly reflect an important
commitment that members have made to one another that continues to expand as we work together to build a better future," said AFTRA Foundation President Shelby Scott.
