8 • LMGI COMPASS | Winter 2018 CONTRIBUTORS Nancy Mills Nancy Mills is a freelance entertainment writer whose work has appeared in dozens of magazines and newspapers around the world, including USA Today, USA Weekend magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Us Weekly, People, Cosmopolitan, Elle, The Costco Connection, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, New York Daily News, The Guardian, International Herald Tribune and The New York Times Syndicate. Over the years, she has visited hundreds of TV and film locations in such far- flung spots as China, India, Italy, France, Germany, England, Mexico, Australia and Fiji. She is a graduate of Cornell University. Judy Schultz A marketing major interested in film, Judy created her own internship with the Connecticut State Film Office, where she was introduced to the production industry. After 11 years freelancing as a location scout/ assistant (Message in a Bottle, ESPN, Judging Amy, Gilmore Girls), script supervisor (Martha Stewart Living, Dick Wolf Prods), production coordinator (Rescue 911, America's Most Wanted), and AD (Discovery Channel), Judy became the project manager for the CT Film Office, where she always hoped to return. Judy was then recruited to open a film office in Sedona, AZ, which she successfully operated as director for three years while completing several master classes as a member of AFCI. A former fitness instructor, Judy enjoys working out & time outdoors, as well as reading and writing. After a hiatus to take care of family members, Judy is exploring fresh opportunities in the industry that will utilize her production, marketing and administrative skills while volunteering with the LMGI. Angus Ledgerwood Angus Ledgerwood began his locations career at the age of 18 purely by chance—his older brother met a retiring location scout in an elevator and introduced them on The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. For the past nine years, Ledgerwood has worked as an assistant location manager, scout and most recently, as a location manager. His credits include the feature films Kong: Skull Island, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Little Things and the TV series Terra Nova. A native of Queensland, Australia, Ledgerwood has also worked and lived in the USA and UK. His love of adventure has taken him scouting across more than a dozen countries. Jill Naumann Los Angeles native Jill Naumann considers filmmaking to be an integral part of her cultural heritage. Training on the streets of LA during the '90s filming boom, Naumann worked with directors such as Ron Howard, Mick Jackson and William Friedkin. In 2003, she received a COLA Award for Location Professional of the Year- Television for 44 Minutes: The North Hollywood Shoot-Out. In 2013, she was honored with a second COLA for the Best Reality Series Top Hooker. Her photography has been showcased in AFCI's Locations Magazine and many California country brochures distributed by tourism boards. In her downtime, she enjoys using multi- sport vacations to scout California's small towns, and donates her time on the festival circuit to promote filming. Mario Ramirez Mario attended San Diego State University studying telecommunications and film as he worked in the San Diego Film Commission, before he began a career as a longtime ALM and location manager at Stu Segall Productions. Seeing a lack in TV & film services, Mario founded Reel Security in 1998 to service MTV Beach Houses nationally. As the President/CEO of Reel Security Corp., a production security company, he grew the company nationwide in no small part due to a strategic push for developing industry specific software. Seeing the impact intelligent software had on his business, Mario founded Virtual Masons, to make intelligent software solutions for production and production vendors. D.R. Randall DR has a master's in human- computer interaction from Carnegie Mellon University and has been working in enterprise software for over a decade. He worked on the top-selling iPhone app Camerabag, a predecessor to Instagram, and on various projects with top-tier technology and business brands, including Google, VMware, Volkswagen, Sainsbury's and Fiat, managing projects in Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Dublin. After multiple successful projects with Mario and Virtual Masons team as a consultant, DR joined the team full time in 2017 as Head of Product.
