Among
Friends
Morgan Freeman is no stranger to
the SAG Awards stage. In addition
to winning a SAG Award for his
performance in Million Dollar
Baby in 2005, Freeman has also
previously presented the Life
Achievement Award.
He was on hand to give the
award to Ernest Borgnine in 2010
and Rita Moreno in 2013.
Borgnine, who was 93 when he
accepted his award, had recently
worked alongside Freeman in the
2010 action film Red.
Moreno and Freeman,
meanwhile, share a storied history.
The two have been friends since
the early 1970s, when they starred
on The Electric Company together
for six seasons. After presenting
Moreno with her award, the two
celebrated the then-recent merger
of SAG and AFTRA by practicing
saying "SAG-AFTRA" together
onstage.
This time, when Freeman stands
before the crowd, it will be to
accept his own, well-deserved Life
Achievement Award.
