38 The Costume Designer Summer 2017 BFN - WORK IN FOCUS BOLDFACE NAMES Not often does taking one's dog on location for fi ve months end up with your pet becoming a superstar, but that's what happened when CD Hannah Owens-Bender took Ziggy with her to Charleston, South Carolina, to design Mr. Mercedes. Based on a Stephen King novel of the same name and adapted by David E. Kelley and show- runner/director Jack Bender for the Audience Network, the 10-epi- sode detective series takes place in Ohio in 2010. Owens-Bender found the real challenge was fi nding a way to make each character distinctive as ordinary Middle America middle-class folks, without standing out. Starring an ensemble cast, including Brendan Gleeson, Harry Treadaway, Holland Taylor, Mary Louise Parker, Kelly Lynch, Jharrel Jerome, and Ziggy as Jerome's dog! CD Hannah Jacobs and ACD Lindsay Monahan are thrilled to be working with writer/producer Brian Duffi eld again, this time on the new USA pilot Olive Forever, starring newcomer Emily Rudd. Writ- ten by Duffi eld and directed by Matt Shakman, whose credits include Fargo and Game of Thrones, the series follows the exploits of Olive, a mysterious high school student with affection for cat burglary-type shenanigans. New to a sleepy town with a criminal underbelly, Olive must navigate new foster parents, new boyfriends, new gangsters … and new crime opportunities. "I am back in Atlanta again!" exclaims CD Denise Wingate, this time designing a new comedy feature called Tag, directed by Jeff Tomsic for New Line Cinema. Based on a true story of fi ve highly competitive friends who meet every year for one month in a no- holds-barred game of tag they've been playing since the fi rst grade. They risk their necks, jobs, and relationships to take each other down with the battle cry, "You're It!" Written by Mark Steilen and Rob McKittrick, the fi lm's ensemble cast is led by Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, and Hannibal Buress, with Jon Hamm and Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner. Tag shows how far some guys will go to be the last man standing. The competitive friends that meet up for Tag.
